"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I use a technique called automatic drawing - essentially drawing shapes and forms on a page without any conscious intentions, and waiting for an image to emerge. It was a method of working that many of the Surrealists used, as a means of accessing the subconscious. I never have a set idea at the outset, so I suppose the inspiration is a combination of instinct and pure chance.
